BUS SHELTER NEAR KIRKBY STORES

The Parish Council is considering removing this shelter and would like to hear your thoughts on this. It is not apparent that it is regularly used and as it will cost at least £1500 to repair and repaint it is possible that the money could be better spent elsewhere. If you do use this whilst waiting for a bus, or if you have any ideas about what should be put in its place please contact the Parish Council by emailing kmldpc@btinternet.com or writing to the Clerk at Holmes Cottage, High Walk, Kirkby Malzeard HG4 3RY. There is also information on the Parish Council Facebook page and comments can be left there.

ARMISTICE 2018

The Parish Council have agreed to fund an artwork for Kirkby Malzeard to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the end of WW1 which will comprise eight boards, produced by local artist Stephen Weld, positioned throughout the village marking the 17 soldiers from the Parish who died during the war. One is to be positioned on the former Henry Jenkins building and the sheep graffiti will be painted over in conjunction with this.

THE FORMER HENRY JENKINS PUBLIC HOUSE

The planning application made earlier in the year by the new owner of the East section (Mr Claybourn), for conversion to one dwelling (see HBC Planning website for details - case ref 18/03230/FUL) has been resubmitted with additional information and a decision is currently awaited.

The ACV listing from that section of the property has now been reviewed following the nomination by HJCC to have it re-listed and the nomination has been unsuccessful. Please refer to the Parish Council website for a copy of the decision:   http://www.kmldpc.btck.co.uk/NEWS/

Further information and updates on the future of the building are available on the Henry Jenkins website:  ://www.thehenryjenkins.com/
