SEASON 2017-18

FIRST TEAM: Managed by Chris Slater and assisted by Andrew Stone - Captained by Jonathon Raddan.

The first team play in the 13 team Harrogate and District Heck Sausages Premier League and this year their strip is sponsored by the Queens Head village pub. The team came back strongly in the second half of last season so we hoped to see a continuation of that form this season.

On the opening day of the season Kirkby were however at home to Thirsk Falcons and regrettably lost 1-3 with Joe Bradley scoring. The following Saturday saw them beat Helperby United at home 4-2 with goals from Ash Buckley, Glenn Lyons, Jonathon Raddan and Reece Windle and on September 2 they played their first away game at Pannal Sports unfortunately losing 3-1 with a goal from Glenn Lyons. This left them 7th in the league.

On Saturday September 16 they were not playing in the league but beat Beckwithshaw Saints 5-3 with goals from Ash Buckley, 2 from Glenn Lyons, Jonathon Raddan and Reece Windle. Last Saturday saw them back in league action at Harlow Hill where they went down 2-0 dropping them to 9th.Their next match is on September 30 away at Thirsk Falcons with a 2.30 pm kick-off.

RESERVES: Manager - To be appointed. Captained by Conor Bryan.

The reserves play in the 16 team Harrogate and District League One and they finished a respectable 7th in League Two last year before it was amalgamated into Division One.

Their first game of the season was away at Pannal Sports Reserves where they lost 6-1 but they made amends beating Harlow Hill Reserves 3-2 last Saturday leaving them 9th. They are at home to Thirsk Falcons Reserves on September 30 - 2.30 kick off.

VETERANS (OVER 35 SIDE) - play in the Championship of the Football Mundial Harrogate Vets League. Managed by Shane Hayden and captained by Ian Carling.

The team drew their first (and only game of season so far) 2-2 versus Amaranth Manstonians.
