KIRKBY MALZEARD FOOTBALL CLUB

SEASON 2018-19

FIRST TEAM: Managed by Chris Slater and assisted by Andrew Stow - Captained by Jonathon Raddon.

The first team play in the 11 team Harrogate and District Heck Sausages Premier League and their strip is sponsored by the Queens Head village pub. Last season the team finished a very creditable 3rd in the table and also reached the League Challenge Cup Final.

2019 started in a very positive fashion with a 3-0 home win against Beckwithshaw Saints leaving them currently 3rd in the table. The team played in the Harrogate League Senior Cup at home to Bardsey on Saturday January 12th but lost 1-0. They return to the league for an away trip to Hampsthwaite on the 19th.

RESERVES: Managed by Luke Wilson.

After difficulties finding enough players last year a reserve team has been formed for this season and they are playing in the 10 team Jan Sinker Memorial Division One.

Their last league game was away at Harlow Hill Reserves on January 5th and they were just edged out losing 3-2 which unfortunately kept them in 10th place. A 6-1 defeat at Bardsey Reserves on January 12th keeps them cemented at the bottom of the table but things might improve on the 19th when they host Harrogate Railway Athletic with a 1.30pm kick-off.

General training for both reams is held at College Lawns in Ripon at 7.45pm - 9pm every Tuesday.

Kirkby Malzeard also has a team playing in the Harrogate and District Vets 11 a side League - Championship Division and the fixtures, results and table are available on this website link   http://footballmundial.com/leagues/view/287/harrogate-district-vets-11-a-side-league#championship
