KIRKBY MALZEARD FOOTBALL CLUB

SEASON 2018-19

FIRST TEAM: Managed by Chris Slater and assisted by Andrew Stow - Captained by Jonathon Raddon.

The first team play in the 11 team Harrogate and District Heck Sausages Premier League and their strip is sponsored by the Queens Head village pub. Last season the team finished a very creditable 3rd in the table and also reached the League Challenge Cup Final.

The team played their first home game of the season against Hampsthwaite having played five away games and unfortunately lost by the odd goal in five. Their last league game was against Bardsey last Saturday which ended in a 3-3 draw, leaving them 8th in the table.

On Saturday October 20 the team are at home to Knaresborough Celtic in the Whitworth Cup with a 2pm kick-off with penalties to decide the outcome if the match ends in a draw.

RESERVES: Managed by Luke Wilson.

After difficulties finding enough players last year a reserve team has been formed for this season and they are playing in the 12 team Jan Sinker Memorial Division One.

After some disappointing results in their first three matches away from home they improved markedly when they played at Pool AFC on the 22nd when they won 7-2. They followed this up in their first home match against Beckwithshaw Saints Reserves when a 3-0 win and then they beat Bardsey Reserves 2-0 taking them up to 7th in the table.

The team play in the Hulme Cup next Saturday October 20, when they are at home to Kirk Deighton Rangers Reserves. The game will kick off at 4pm following the end of the First team game and will also be decided by penalties if it ends in a draw.

General training for both reams is held at College Lawns in Ripon at 7.45pm - 9pm every Tuesday.

Kirkby Malzeard also has a team playing in the Harrogate and District Vets 11 a side League - Championship Division and the fixtures, results and table are available on this website link   http://footballmundial.com/leagues/view/287/harrogate-district-vets-11-a-side-league#championship
