MONDAY SEPTEMBER 25

PARISH COUNCIL MEETING - The monthly Parish Council meeting will be held in the annex of the Mechanics Institute starting 7.15pm - members of the public welcome.

FRIDAY SEPTEMBER 29

MACMILLAN COFFEE MORNING - This fundraising event starts runs from 10am to 12noon at the the Mechanics Institute. Tea/coffee and choice of cake, Raffle, Cake and Plant stalls plus guess the weight of the cake competition!

MECHANICS QUIZ NIGHT - The Friday night monthly quiz at the Mechanics is back - starts 8pm prompt- bar open 7.30pm onwards - £3 per person to include light supper - max 6 people per team. Raffle.

MONDAY OCTOBER 2

BOWLS CLUB DOMINOES - The new season of domino nights starts tonight at 7.30pm at Highside Playing Fields pavilion - £2 to include tea and biscuits - Raffle. Everyone welcome - not just bowls club members!

FRIDAY OCTOBER 6

MUSIC NIGHT - Following the success of the inaugural Music Night in September similar events are planned for October and November - bar opens 7.30 pm - music starts 8pm - entry by donation - everyone welcome even if you would just like to listen! All types of music allowed.

SATURDAY OCTOBER 7

THE MOSAIC TRAIL - Its 20 years since the creation of the Crackpots Mosaic Trail in Dallowgill and to celebrate the anniversary there is an organised walk around the trail and a local history exhibition at Greygarth Chapel, with refreshments available. The 7 mile walk starts at 10 am from the Chapel and will include morning coffee, bbq lunch and snacks finishing with afternoon tea back at the Chapel. The cost to take part is £6 for adults and £3 for children (family ticket also available)  If you have any information, exhibits or photos etc you think may be of interest for the exhibition please contact Patrice Lyth on 01765 658702 or Karen Pickles on 01765 658452. SUNDAY OCTOBER 22

BADAPPLE THEATRE - The latest production from this popular touring Theatre group entitled Salsa Verde is being preformed tonight at the Mechanics Institute starting at 7.30pm. The comedy follows two different generations of characters where a romantic love triangle seems destined to be repeated down the years.A wartime Bevan Boy and a naval recruit clash at the dance hall as do another thoroughly modern duo, fighting over the instructor at the local village hall Salsa night. FAMILY HALLOWEEN DISCO - Its that time of year again when everyone dresses up in ghoulish fashion and has a bop - further details to follow.

MUSIC NIGHT - Come along to the Mechanics Institute tonight for another popular Music Night where locals demonstrate just how talented they are! Bar open 7.30 onwards with music starting at 8pm. Entry by donation. All genres of music welcome.

AN EVENING WITH THE YORKSHIRE SHEPHERDESS  AMANDA OWEN - St Andrews Church is hosting

an evening of humorous and quirky tales charting the highs and lows of sheep farming in the Yorkshire Dales.

The event will commence at 7.30pm - tickets will be on sale from September 1 and will cost £10.
