QUEENS HEAD - Pool Knock-out competition on tonight at the village pub. £5 entry - prizes for 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th.

SUNDAY OCTOBER 22

BADAPPLE THEATRE - The latest production from this popular touring Theatre group entitled Salsa Verde is being preformed tonight at the Mechanics Institute starting at 7.30pm. The comedy follows two different generations of characters where a romantic love triangle seems destined to be repeated down the years.A wartime Bevan Boy and a naval recruit clash at the dance hall as do another thoroughly modern duo, fighting over the instructor at the local village hall Salsa night. FRIDAY OCTOBER 27

QUIZ NIGHT - The regular Mechanics quiz takes place tonight starting 8pm prompt - bar open from 7.30pm - £3 per person to include light supper - max 6 people per team. Raffle.

HALLOWEEN PARTY FOR THE KIDS - Between 3pm and 5pm this afternoon at the Queens Head - Guest appearance from Syke and Chase from the Paw Patrol - fancy dress optional!

MONDAY OCTOBER 30

KIRKBY MALZEARD LAVERTON AND DALLOWGILL PARISH COUNCIL - The regular monthly meeting will be held in the Annex of the Mechanics Institute commencing at 7.15 pm. Members of the public welcome. The planning application for the proposed development of 47 houses on Laverton Road will be on the agenda.

TUESDAY OCTOBER 31

FAMILY HALLOWEEN DISCO - Its that time of year again when everyone dresses up in ghoulish fashion and has a bop - the event is at the Mechanics Institute and starts at 6.30pm running until 8pm - prizes for best pumpkin, best dressed girl, best dressed boy and best dressed adult! Refreshments- Free entry but donations welcome.

WEDNESDAY NOVEMBER 1

KIRKBY MALZEARD WOMEN'S INSTITUTE - The Speaker this month is local resident Martin Renton who will describing the activities of the Fell Rescue team of which he is a member. The meeting starts at 7.15pm and will be held at the normal venue of the Mechanics Institute.

FRIDAY NOVEMBER 3

MUSIC NIGHT - Come along to the Mechanics Institute tonight for another popular Music Night where locals demonstrate just how talented they are! Bar open 7.30 onwards with music starting at 8pm. Entry by donation. All genres of music welcome. 

SATURDAY NOVEMBER 4

ST MICHAEL'S HOSPICE COFFEE MORNING - Pre Xmas Coffee morning with Hospice Cards and Calendars for sale. Cake Stall and Tombola. The event is being held this year at The Barn House, Kirkby Malzeard (just behind the butchers) courtesy of Sue Slater and starts at 10 am.

DOMINOES - Bowls Club domino night at the Highside Playing Field pavilion - £2 to include light supper. Raffle. Starts 7.30 pm.

FRIDAY NOVEMBER 10

AN EVENING WITH THE YORKSHIRE SHEPHERDESS  AMANDA OWEN - St Andrews Church is hosting

an evening of humorous and quirky tales charting the highs and lows of sheep farming in the Yorkshire Dales.

tea/coffee and toast/homemade biscuits.

WEDNESDAY NOVEMBER 15

YOUTH CLUB OPEN MEETING - Vicki Lever of North Yorkshire Youth is holding an open meeting at the

Mechanics Institute from 6 pm - 7.30 pm to discuss organising a Youth Club - anyone wishing to volunteer to

help and in anyway interested is invited to attend.
