CARVERY by CHEF AND BUTCHER - By popular demand the Sunday Carvery returns this lunchtime from 12.30 to 2.30pm at its usual venue - the Mechanics Institute. MONDAY NOVEMBER 25

PARISH COUNCIL - The monthly meeting is being held tonight in the Annexe Room of the Mechanics Institute, Kirkby Malzeard starting at 7.15pm. Everyone welcome.

FRIDAY NOVEMBER 29

QUIZ NIGHT - The monthly Quiz Night tales place tonight at the Mechanics Institute. The bar opens at 7.30pm with the quiz starting promptly at 8pm. 6 persons maximum per team. Raffle. £3 per person to include light supper.

SATURDAY NOVEMBER 30

XMAS FAIR - St Andrews Church are holding their annual Xmas Fair in the Mechanics Institute this morning from 10am to 1pm. All the usual gift stalls, Father Xmas in his grotto, children's games etc. Lunches and refreshments are being served including soup, steak sandwiches, hot dogs, and veggie burgers. MONDAY DECEMBER 2

BOWLS CLUB DOMINOES. - Come to the Highside Playing Field Pavilion at 7.30pm for a domino night to raise Funds for the bowls club. Light refreshments are included in the £2 charge and there will be a raffle.

WEDNESDAY DECEMBER 4

XMAS DECORATIONS WORKSHOP. - A workshop to make hanging Xmas decorations for the St Andrew’s Church will be held there from 10am onwards. You don’t have to be a creative genius to take part, you will get plenty of help. Contact Hilary on hilarycookson@btinternet.com for further details.

KIRKBY MALZEARD WI XMAS PARTY - Members are holding their Xmas festivities this evening at the Mechanics Institute tonight starting at 7.15pm.

SUNDAY DECEMBER 8

DALLOWGILL LOCAL HISTORY GROUP - The group will be meeting at 3pm in the School Room of Greygarth Chapel, Dallowgill when the Guests will be Bev and Phil from Folk Finders Family History in Pateley Bridge, who can provide lots of advice and information on tracing your ancestors. £2 to include tea and biscuits.

TUESDAY DECEMBER 10

NEIGHBOURHOOD PLAN STEERING GROUP MEETING - The monthly meeting is being held this evening (rather than the normal second Monday of the month) in the Reading Room of the Mechanics Institute starting at 7pm. Anyone interested is welcome to attend.

HIGHSIDE SINGERS’ CONCERT. –  Our local Choir are performing in support of St Michael’s Hospice, tonight in Grantley Village Hall at 7.30pm. Tickets, priced at £8, are now on sale from Christine (01765

KIRKBY IN BLOOM’S  COFFEE MORNING SATURDAY 11 JANUARY 10.30 - 12 noon in the Mechanics’ Institute Everyone is welcome for tea and coffee and to browse our range of stalls.  We are planning a warm social occasion for the depths of January and to raise funds to help Kirkby look great in the year ahead. Raffle, book stall, bric-a-brac, cakes, potted bulbs and a “surprise-surprise” stall!
