Summer would not be the same in the heart of an English village, let alone a Yorkshire village, without a local cricket team to either play for, or support. Kirkby Malzeard Cricket Club plays it's home games on a Saturday afternoon at the Highside Playing Fields taking on opposition in the Theakston Nidderdale League, with matches from April until September.

The club is always on the look-out for new players to strengthen its squad so if you are interested in playing please contact Iain on 658292 or Peter on 07983442477.

The outdoor nets practice sessions normally take place at Highside on Thursdays at 6.30pm with coaching for juniors on Saturday mornings during the season - Iain or Peter can give you more details if you are interested.

It was a disappointing season for Kirkby Malzeard with six of the 22 games played affected by rain, some in and out form and two games conceded which resulted in them finishing second bottom of Division 5 and being relegated to Division 6 for the 2020 season. There were however some hopeful signs in the final few games and we are sure that next year will be a promotion year.
